| The information on this bird is almost identical
as the information on a Green cheek conure. However, Green
Cheeks are more available than Maroon Bellied conures.
This is a very quiet bird like all the Pyrrhuras and is often
mistaken for the Green cheeked conure. There is little difference
between the 2 except the coloring. The Maroon-bellied Conure's
tail is a green color on top and lightly maroon colored underneath,
while the green Cheek Conure's tail has a dark maroon color.
These birds have a very sweet personality and
are fast becoming a bird keepers favorite . They are the perfect
pet for people living in apartments, they are small, not very
messy, they will learn to talk a little and are very lovable.
They also love to bathe, so keep a large water
bowl in their cages. And they too, love to take showers with
their owners.
Maroon-bellies love to eat fruits and vegetables,
or at least play with them and munch on them.
