| This is a medium to noisy parrot. Typically
they exhibit passive behavior and soon become confiding to
their keeper. They can be quite robust when acclimated. They,
young birds in particular, enjoy hanging upside down from
mesh or perch. Myers have been kept free flying successfully.
The head is black and the upper breast greyish-brown.
And almost all birds have yellow feathers forming a band on
crown. The lower breast, abdomen and under tail-coverts are
generally bluish-grey, in some birds turquoise. The lower
back and rump are light blue to bright light blue (not bluish-green)
The bend of wing, under wing-coverts and thighs are yellow.
The wing-coverts and flight feathers are dark greyish-brown;.
The tail upperside is brown, the underside is dark grey. The
periophthalmic ring is black. The bill is black, the iris
orange-red and the feet are dark grey.
